Abdul-Ilah bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud

Abdul-Ilah bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud (Arabic: عبد الإله بن عبد العزيز آل سعود‎; born 1935), also spelled Abdulillah, is a prince of the Saudi royal family. He is an adviser to King Abdullah. He is a member of the Allegiance Council which helps determine the Saudi line of succession.

Biography

Prince Abdul-Ilah was born in 1935.[1][2] He is the second son from King Abdul-Aziz's marriage with Princess Haya bint Saad al-Sudairi to survive infancy. He served as the governor of Al-Qassim Province from March 1980 to March 1992 and then as governor of Al Jawf Province from 1998 to 2001.[1][3]

He is also an entrepreneur and has served as chairman of the Arabian Jewelry Company, National Investment Company, and the National Automobile Company.[1]

He has accompanied King Abdullah on diplomatic trips abroad, since Abdullah was still Crown Prince.[4][5] In 2008, he was appointed as adviser to Abdullah with the rank of minister.[6]

Family

He is a son of King Abdul-Aziz and Princess Haya bint Saad al-Sudairi. He is a full brother of Prince Badr and the late Prince Abdul-Majeed. His son, Prince Abdul-Aziz (born 1965), is a stakeholder in Al-Rajhi Bank.[1]
